Becoming Louisiana - The Canary Islanders

Y’all do not want to miss a good lecture by Chad Leblanc. He is going to speak about Canary Islanders, where our Isleño community finds its origins. Today, Isleño people live primarily around New Orleans in Saint-Bernard parish but unfortunately their language is more endangered than Creole and French in Louisiana. This lecture is free and will take place at the Louisiana State Archives on 3851 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
